After reading this handout, I learned that mix tapes could have many topics or purposes. Which are split into seven types of mixes. Mix one; Crush tapes are usually filled with songs and titles that are flirty in order to "let your intentions be known". Musical Journey tapes are more of an "eccentric taste"; where the hidden part of someone is revealed. Audio Postcard tapes are similar to the previous two except it includes a recorded message from the creator. Conceptual tapes are a form of art meant to be only heard once. Era Defining tapes serve to document the music of the chosen time period. Break Up tapes serve to humiliate or give regret to the ex relationship. Themed tapes are used for special occasions such as celebrating a birth. In all, these were the seven types of mix tapes commonly found or made.
