"Roller Boogie" Love is a Mix Tape- Summary

Rob Sheffield the narrator is a guy reminiscing through his adolescence. Particularly, at age thirteen when his love for music inspired him to make mix tapes for his eighth grade dances. Rob had believed that "music was going to make girls fall in love with" him, sence he was clueless to social interaction. While reminiscing through his tape, Rob begins to regret some of his choices, music wise and social wise. Ironically Rob didn't realize that his dads statement about how people go to the dances "to meet girls" rather than for the music, was right. His passion for music had blinded him as he now regrets some of the music choices he made. At the same time he lost the opportunity to interact with girls. Which explains why the story opens with the phrase "I was too young to know better."
